Joy Foster’s mission in life is to help improve the lives of others. She has worked tirelessly to find a way to solve social inequality through commercially viable means. Having built two social enterprises which are now running without needing her assistance, She is fully focused on TechPixies.
TechPixies teaches women how to use modern technology in order to help them return to work, change careers or start a business. The programme has positively impacted 95% of the women who have completed it.
Prior to launching her career as an entrepreneur, she was a member of the US archery team for four years from 2004 to 2007. She was also a rower, winning Women’s Henley in 2001 in the elite coxless four. She currently training to complete an Ironman and completed the Prudential Ride London 100 mile ride in July 2018.
Joy is married to Tim Foster MBE, a rower who helped secure Steve Redgrave’s 5th Olympic gold medal in Sydney. She lives in Oxford with her two children and Asteroid the cat.
Joy has won several awards in recognition of her work with TechPixies, most recently Women in Business Startup of the Year 2018, IoD Startup Director of the Year London and the South 2018 and was named one of the 100 Faces of the Vibrant Economy by Grant Thronton.
